The Return Of Roaring Kitty: What Does It All Mean?

The same way I’ll start any blog pertaining to money, finance, stocks, etc, I am NOT a financial advisor and everything I say is purely speculation and for entertainment purposes only. We are here to have fun, and the number one rule that should always be followed, is to only put in money you can afford to lose. So who is Roaring Kitty? What the fuck is going on? What are his intentions? What comes next?

Who is Roaring Kitty?

Roaring Kitty, also known as Keith Gill, is a user in the Reddit forum, Wall Street Bets. Wall Street Bets is exactly what it sounds like, betting on Wall Street. Gambling in the biggest casino in the world, the stock market. I am not trying to dive too far into the history of it all, so if you are completely unaware of the “memestock” craze from 2021, go check out the movie “Dumb Money” on Netflix. It will not give the full picture, but will at least help you understand how and why we got here.

Roaring Kitty was an active member in the community, doing live streams, interacting in forums, etc. When all of this went down, Roaring Kitty ended up being sued by multiple parties, and going through a legal battle. Very understandably, Keith decided it was time to take a step back.

His last post, made in June of 2021, showed kittens going to sleep:

He meant it, as this kitty stayed asleep for almost 3 years…

What the fuck is going on now?

For the first time in almost 3 years, Roaring Kitty made a post on X, and the market and internet reacted immediately:

He has since been posting movie clips, edited and spliced together. We assume these memes all mean something, as they depict going to a war, and have even started specifically mentioning the company of GameStop. There has been no direct mention of the stock, or even what the point of the posts are yet. For now, we just enjoy the videos and speculate.

What are his intentions?

We are still pretty unsure what his true intentions are. There are nothing but memes and movie clips being posted, so we can only speculate. I have 3 ideas or theories that I think can make sense and explain why he is back:

  1. Ego - I think this is the least likely, since he has had 3 years to step into the limelight and do interviews, shows, podcasts, etc. and has simply chose to remain dark. But it is still possible that Roaring Kitty just misses the attention, and wants to be some internet megastar.

  2. Make Money - He saw his chance with the last cycle, and figures if he can run back the same playbook, he can make 10s of millions, and then peace the fuck out. I think this is more likely than an ego thing, but still think he has had the chance to take the money and leave if that was his end goal. Of course, I understand that people always want more, and why not make $40 million instead of $10 million? I definitely will not rule out this possibility, but I still think the last possibility is the most likely.

  3. Lead A Movement - He has come back to expose and/or destroy what Wall Street is. We are unsure at this point what Roaring Kitty is truly capable of, but a ton of his clips reference going to a war or battle. We assume this is retail investors going to war with Wall Street and hedge funds, but still don’t know how or what that battle entails. He has yet to mention a specific stock, or give any clear direction of his intentions, but if he isn’t here for his ego or to make an extra dollar, I would assume this is the beginning of a bigger movement.

Here are some of his videos, and what they could possibly mean or be saying:

“We’re done, when I say we’re done” is the main takeaway here, followed by a kitten waking up. Fairly simple here, he’s back and may be claiming that he is in charge now.

I am unsure what movie the first scene is, but the theme of this video is running, and hearing the horses coming. Running could refer to the stock “running” up in value. Or could be referring to the horses running. Horses running could be referring to a battle or war. Which is shown in another one of his videos:

I am not going to post every single video he has posted so far, but there are a few more that I think have a significant meaning and can help us understand his intentions:

“The loophole.” This could be referring to a “rigged” or unfair system that the insiders know how to manipulate or control in their favor. I have seen contradicting posts about whether every single halt on GME and AMC were automatically enforced using mathematical triggers, or if there really is someone making these calls manually. But it does seem very clear that Roaring Kitty at the very least is trying to expose and point out a flaw in the system.

“No fighting” may be my favorite one yet, IF IF IF, my interpretation is correct. Roaring Kitty has only shared views and ideas on Gamestop, and not for AMC. A ton of people online argue about which stock is better, which one is squeezing, and which is the “real” meme stock. It’s pinning us against each other. IF this is a real movement and a fight against the big man, we are on the same team. Fighting with each other is what they want.

What comes next?

To be honest, who the fuck knows? But he has been back for only 3 days now, and things have already gone viral, and the whole world is paying attention again. I would like to hope there is some grand reveal, or master plan to really achieve some sort of real change in how our system operates. But it may just be a giant spectacle to expose that the system is broken and rigged. Maybe we can’t fix it right now, but if enough people understand it is broken, maybe this is the first domino falling that could lead to new rules and regulations.

My personal opinion is that Roaring Kitty is a good guy, and is fighting against the system. WHY is he doing that? That is where I am unsure. Is it revenge? Or is he really trying to break the system, to help rebuild it in a better way? Time will tell, and best believe I will be FUCKING GLUED to his account until we learn more.
