Top 5 Cereals
This top 5 may be the first that I am unsure which direction to take. I have shifted my cereal preference over the years as most adults do, but still have a special place in my heart for those sugary cereals we loved growing up.
Lucky Charms - I do not eat Lucky Charms nearly as much as I used to. I probably haven’t even had them in over a year if we’re being honest. So how is it my #1? It will forever be my #1. It was my favorite cereal growing up, and gun to my head if I could only have 1 cereal the rest of my life, I would still pick Lucky Charms. This is more of a “treat” or a “dessert” cereal, and you probably need to self-reflect if you’re an adult eating Lucky Charms for breakfast.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch - Another cereal that I have not eaten in over a year, but has to make the top 5. I hear this cereal mentioned a lot when talking about favorite cereals, and have found basically no one that has openly said they aren’t a fan. A solid, consistent cereal that will always get the job done.
Cap’n Crunch - This cereal finally has a bit of controversy. One of the few cereals that changes drastically with milk time. Eating this cereal too early will destroy the roof of your mouth and cut it into oblivion. Wait a bit too long, and this cereal becomes WAY too mushy. If you can manage to eat Cap’n Crunch at just the right time, it earns its spot in the top 5.
Reese’s Puffs - I was not a fan of peanut butter or peanut butter-flavored anything for a large part of my childhood. As I got older, I started to like PB a lot more. I do not eat these very often, but they still deserve a place in my top 5.
Wheaties - I have always liked Wheaties growing up, as my Grandpa ate a bowl for breakfast EVERY morning. When I was younger, I would choose some sugary cereals more often, but nowadays, if I am eating cereal, there’s a 90% chance it’s Wheaties.
The honorable mentions are basically every other cereal that exists. I am not sure there is a cereal out there that I truly don’t like. Fruity Pebbles, Honey Nut Cheerios, Fruit Loops, Special K, Trix, Golden Grahms, the list could go on forever.
